Ever x Esquivel

Posted in Footwear with tags , , on June 24, 2008 by c-lion

California based clothing brand Ever has teamed up with shoe designer George Esquivel to make their first line of men’s shoes. This collaboration resulted in some great hand-crafted men’s shoes, including the loafers and combat-style boots pictured below.

The leather is hand cut and massaged into shape, resulting in a seriously high quality shoe which should be able to withstand some abuse. According to the Ever website, the finished product “bares the detailed markings and subtle imperfections of the laborious craftsmanship necessary to create each pair.” These shoes fit nicely with Ever’s image as a classic, comfortable luxury travel brand.

Look for these shoes to be available here sometime this summer.

Take a look at Head Porter’s new white button-down shirt. At first glance, you might think it’s just a regular button-down. However, Head porter has taken the classic button down and flipped it on its head with the perfect combination of form and function. Underneath the 100% cotton exterior there lie hidden mesh inserts at the upper back and underarms for extra ventilation to avoid sweating and stains. Another great feature is the pear buttons. Check it out here.

Classic?

The rap community seems to have just had its mind blown. Personally, I’m still not sure but a lot of people are absolutely certain Lil Wayne’s new album Tha Carter III is going to be a classic. Realistically, “Dr. Carter,” “Let the Beat Build,” “Phone Home,” and “A Milli” are phenomenal, but it’s songs like “Tie My Hands” and “Got Money” that make me believe we’re one album short from a perfect album, particularly since he has done nothing but get better from album to album. I mean, sure, his cover clearly evokes Illmatic and Ready to Die, but I’m fairly sure that that does not guarantee a classic rap album. I guess all we can do is wait it out…
